Gracie Barra has many Instructors that teach classes and others that take key roles that are essential to the success of our organization. To insure our students understand the titles, we have listed the hierarchy and responsibilities associated with them. 

 

 

Professor Lucas Rocha

Professor Lucas Rocha is a 2nd Degree Brown Belt of the prestigious Gracie Barra PE Academy in Recife, Brazil. He began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu when he was 12, under the tutelage of his uncle and Professor Ze Radiola, who trained under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. Professor Lucas is an active competitor defending the Gracie Barra name and traditions with many accomplishments. A few of Professor Lucas' achievements include:

  • 4x World Champion
  • 3x Pan American Champion
  • 3x European Champion
  • World No Gi Champion
  • Brazilian Nationals Champion
  • Samurai Jiu Jitsu Pro Champion
  • Samurai Jiu Jitsu Pro Absolute Champion

In addition to being a phenomenal athlete and competitor, Professor Lucas is an official referee for the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) and he travels worldwide sharing his knowledge and experience of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He teaches children as young as 3 years of age, adults, high-level athletes, police officers, military officers, and firemen. He is charismatic, attentive and loves teaching. He is an outstanding role-model and mentor to all of his students. 

It has always been Professor Lucas' dream to be the head professor at a Gracie Barra Academy. He is proud to make Arcadia his home.
